About WingTsun

The WingTsun System

The WingTsun system is self defence in its most efficient and consistent form. Your own physical strength or prior abilities need not be the decisive factor in a threatening situation. The young or physically weak are always the first targets of aggressors. However, any person without major physical disabilities can gain self confidence and a level of fitness which will increase their self defence abilities. WingTsun training will teach you to direct the force of an attack against the attacker, i.e. to 'borrow' the energy of the attacker, 'charging up' one's own body and then effortlessly redirecting the energy back against its source. The Leung Ting system is one of the very few self defence systems that prepare you for every phase of a fight, using feet, fists, elbows and knees. Instead of retreating, a WingTsun student will advance and glue themselves to their assailant, rendering them unable to continue their attack. This proximity, combined with well-defined movements, will force the attacker into a helpless position. Advanced WingTsun students turn into an instant nightmare for any aggressor.

The WingTsun system, is the largest professional martial arts organisation in the world, with in excess of 2,500 schools - just in Europe alone! The WingTsun self-defence techniques are taught and practised by international elite police and military units such as the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team, GSG9 (Germany), NOCS (Italy), RAID (France) and the US Marines, to name just a few.

WingTsun Australia

Developed over 250 years ago in China by Ng Mui (a shaolin nun), Great-Grandmaster Yip Man's last master student Leung Ting has updated this martial art to enable tens of thousands of members in over 60 countries to learn and practice this unique system.

The Australian Chief Instructor, Sifu Stefan Fischer trained at the European Head-Quarters ("The Castle") in Germany under the guidance of Grandmaster K.R. Kernspecht, the second highest WT master in the world. His 28 years of martial arts experience and long time occupation as a doorman and bodyguard gave him valuable "hands-on" experience, which now benefits his students. Australia's largest martial arts magazine "Blitz" has named Sifu Fischer as the Kung Fu Instructor of the year 2000/2001.

Sifu Fischer is responsible for a consistant standard of Leung Ting style WingTsun teachers

Blitz-Defence

Blitzdefence deals with the much neglected type of combat wich occurs everywhere, many thousand times each year, with many injuries and even fatalities. In this form of ritual combat the typical martial artist almost always comes off second-best against the unscrupulous street thug. The Blitzdefence programs explain why, it describes atavistic rituals and phases of these one-sided, five-second fights and teaches how the situation can be defused by visual and verbal means or body language. However there are certain people, e.g. acting under the influence of alcohol or drugs, who can only be stopped by even greater violence. The Blitzdefence programs are the ultimate response to such threat. The program has been tried and tested by elite police units and consist of just a few highly effective WingTsun techniques wich will rapidly put an attacker out of action.

WingTsun can offer you new found self confidence, replacing helplessness and resignation with a profound sense of physical well-being without rigorous gym work.

WT grew out of the Taoist tradition of eastern thinking. In Chinese philosophy, "Tao", means "The Way". It signifies life's eternal movement of growing, blooming, fading away, and never ending renewal. To achieve unity with Tao, one must become as the Tao: spontaneous, open, simple, and flexible - not hard and arrogant. When using WingTsun in self-defence or applying it's principles in every day life one become s like a river flowing to the sea. Even if a mountain obstructs the river's flow, it will not be stopped. It will reaches it goal naturally, unavoidably, while overcoming all obstacles on the way.
